What if I told you that there are clues to help you live a successful life. Yes, there are clues, and these clues aren’t hard to find once you know where to look.
I love the film Fools Rush In. There is a scene in the movie where no matter where Alex Whitman (played by Matthew Perry) looks, he sees signs urging him to get back together with his girlfriend. What this scene illustrates is that what you see every day is filtered through what you want to be there.
There are signs everywhere but you have to pay attention to the clues being given.
Most of us dream of having a life well lived. Although we may never be on a television program with flattering things being said about us, we can still live a good life, one that is beneficial to others and satisfying to ourselves.
You should not live our lives for glowing accolades from others but instead, you should be true to who we really are inside. Stop being so concerned about what others think about you, and do not allow fear to stop you from going after your purpose in life.
All of us live in a world with challenges and problems but I believe You can be successful in your purpose. It will take some help along the way but you can take on the role of hero in the story of your life. So strap in, and get ready.
Remember that this is your life and you are living it right now.
Recently I lost a loved one who was a very close relative. The death was an unexpected tragedy. They were not very old either, just in their late forties. Things in life can happen very quickly.
When I was a young kid my mom said to us all the time that tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Think about that for a moment. We can’t live for tomorrow. We can’t change in the past so stop trying. The only time we have really is now and we have to live today.
Let me encourage you to live the life that you have today. Here are some clues, and some keys to help you along the way of your journey. I believe that if you can really catch on to what’s being said, it could change your life for the better.
Take the time to seriously ask yourself, “Who am I and what is my purpose in life?” Write down your perceived strengths and weakness, your highest desires and recurrent fears, and take the time to make a list of all the things you enjoy doing and your hobbies.
If you don’t know your purpose someone else will try to give you theirs.
You may ask yourself: How exactly do I find my purpose? The answer is you develop the daily habit of decisive action.
I once worked with a very successful man who was a multi-millionaire and one thing that stood out about him was that he was a man of action. We would be in a meeting and an idea would come to him, or someone would say something, and he would immediately write a note to himself or tell his secretary to call someone so he could follow up on something.
My old millionaire friend knew that if he could just act on what was happening then it would have a good chance of coming to pass. This man had an action habit and he learned to be very proactive.
Take responsibility for the direction of your life today. Begin your hero’s journey one action at a time. There’s going to be things that happen in your life and you need to be aware of the signs all around you pointing you to your next step.
Heroes don’t fly across buildings or bend bullets, they do the hard work of putting one foot in front of the other and never looking back.
